Nutrition Client Spotlight: Meet Kelly B
Hey! My name is Kelly and I am 22 years old. I worked 1-1 with our Team Nutritionist, Aubree, for 20-weeks on my nutrition goals. My experience was AMAZING! I’ve never worked with another nutrition coach, but I will say that she did a better job than my therapist.
When we began, my goal was to get bigger muscle gains and increase healthy weight. Due to my busy work schedule, we ultimately worked my nutrition so my body was in a steady maintenance phase. During the time in between I was successful in becoming leaner. I initially struggled with balancing calorie/macro intake goals. It took me a bit to understand what was important for my body, especially protein because I don’t eat meat. I now know the basics very well and learned a lot about how my body works and what it needs. I also know now that getting it down can be really hard, but it can be made easier when you do it every day and get into the flow of the things you have to learn!
With my weightlifting I also had no idea how important nutrition was — you can’t grow without eating and consistency! I also learned the real value of food, not just for flavor, but as a source of fuel for my body. Now I feel way more confident in myself and I know that food is not the enemy!
MY NUTRITION EXPERIENCE
Working together was also very special because Aubree allowed me to open up and share my struggles with an eating disorder, BED. I would go through periods when I overate so much food and then would enter into self-starvation. It was awful. Aubs allowed me the space to be completely honest and because of that, she helped me discover the roots to the problem and ultimately move forward from it. I can proudly say that I have not binged in a very long time…I can’t remember when I last had an episode. To feel guilty after eating is a horrible feeling, now I don’t have any discomforts and eat to fuel, I even enjoy eating dinners out from time to time!
Aubree, because of you I have left BED in the dust. You truly helped me fix my relationship with food.
