Nutrition Client Spotlight: Meet Kari
Congratulations to our Nutrition Client Spotlight, Kari!
I have been working 1-1 with Nutrition Coach, Sarah. I have been in the Nutritional Program for about 10 months now. Prior to joining, I have had several people give me great recommendations about Jada Blitz. Because of this, I ended up reaching out, asked all the important questions, and felt really comfortable and confident with trusting the coaches to help me through my journey. I knew it would end up being a great fit for me.
MY STRUGGLES & GOALS
I have been very focused on fitness for over ten years. I started with a lot of cardio and running, but then I eventually transitioned into weight training and gaining more muscle. Throughout the years, I’ve tried a variety of programs, when it comes to nutrition, to support my goals. I followed a program provided through a gym I previously belonged to, I tried intermittent fasting, I tried keto, and I listened to several people that were providing me numbers when it came to my macros. I felt like I was jumping around too often, and by the end of it, I wasn’t sure which route was best for my body and what would be the most effective. Overall, I was just left feeling very defeated and lost. I knew I needed something more consistent, something that was going to work, and something that I can stick to for a longer period of time. The Nutritional Coaches at Jada Blitz truly learn everything about you – your habits, your interests, and your goals. They will do everything to support you to meet those goals and more!
Initially, I was focused on losing body fat/weight. I was at a point where I felt uncomfortable in my clothes and I didn’t want feel that way anymore. Working with the coaches at Jada, I was shedding pounds at a steady pace; I even hit my lowest weight, a number on the scale I haven’t seen in years! For me, the number on the scale came as a great reassurance. My progression pictures were where I was really seeing the difference, and that was what was most important to me. I felt more confident in my clothes and I could feel a difference overall!
Once I hit the point where I was at a good weight, and my body fat was consistent, I spoke to Sarah to see where we should go from there. I decided to not only continue to build muscle, but also shed body fat. My lifts have been heavier and I have been performing better in the gym. We are adjusting my macros to help me lose more body fat, to break through the plateau that I have been in, while also making sure that I keep all the muscle I have gained thus far! I am excited to see where I go from here in the upcoming months!
MY NUTRITION EXPERIENCE
Working with someone new can be scary. You are putting all your trust in someone you may not know all that well, but working with Sarah has been amazing. She always makes an effort to check in to see how my week is going, she takes the time to listen to any and all my problems, and she has been extremely patient with me as well. Sarah goes above and beyond what I ever expected from her. She always puts my mind at ease and always shows how much she truly believes in me. At the end of the day, all of the effort you put in, Sarah gives back. She will help you create a lifestyle that is maintainable and realistic plus, she’s is always available. Any time I send her a message she either answers right away. To have someone who will answer all your questions and concerns at the drop of a dime makes me feel important and that she is truly investing her time and effort in me and my journey.
TRUST THE PROCESS. This has been the hardest thing for me to learn and accept. I always have a fear of going backwards in my progress. Especially when it came to increasing my macros or even going through my first “diet break”. But I have reassured myself (with the help from the coaches) that in order to meet my goals, I need to take these steps to get there. However, in order for this process to work, you need to be completely honest with your coach about everything. That’s where all your success will come from. At the end of the day, life happens. You have weddings, events, you meet up with friends for dinner. But that doesn’t mean your nutrition gets thrown to the side. You are able to go out and feel good about your choices and you are also allowed to splurge from time to time. Allow yourself to have these moments, and just get back on the saddle the next day.
If you truly want to make a lifestyle change, but you are on the fence about moving forward, I would still challenge you to take that leap. You won’t regret it. It is always scary to take that first step, but for me, I knew this was an investment in myself. At the end of the day, I made that difference for me. I wanted to feel better, look better, and be better for myself. I have come such a long way on this journey, but I wouldn’t have been able to do that without the help of the Jada team. They not only help you meet your goals, but they truly educate you on the “why” behind what you are doing and to help you continue your success in the future.
MEET SARAH MCNAMARA, NUTRITION COACH AT JADA BLITZ FITNESS
Kari has been a pleasure to work with. She has worked so hard to get to where she is at and has learned so much about the process and which foods to incorporate into her diet to make the most of the daily macro goals. Kari LOVES her routine. She enjoys being regimented and disciplined; so much so, that even taking a short diet break was a struggle for her! It was tough for her to grasp that her increased caloric intake would help her process in the long run. I remember this required some extra coaching and guidance for Kari. I was happy to help her through it! Kari trusts the process. While some things may not always make sense, she trusts that it all will work. Kari is also such a planner, which I LOVE. Every week she plans her entire week and preps all of her meals in advance. Because of this, she meets her macro goals perfectly every single week!
