Group Fitness Member of the Month: Katie!
Congratulations to our Group Fitness Member of the Month, Katie!
I have been a member since early 2021. I was previously going to a boutique-class style studio that was very limiting to my schedule. My husband suggested I look at Jada Blitz because of the kids club.
I used to wake up every day at 5:45AM and do crossfit (prekids). I really missed having a routine and being able to start my day with exercise. Having a kids club allowed me to be able to create and maintain a schedule again! I’ve also been able to lose all my baby weight and create healthy habits for me and my kids. I want them to learn that exercise and taking care of your body is a healthy habit. They LOVE coming to the gym with me and often ask to join me.
MY GOALS & BECOMING A GROUP FITNESS MEMBER:
I need a group setting to be successful in my training. I like having a class programmed out for me and not having to think about what I need to do that day. I typically take Maura’s Yoga class on Sunday mornings. It’s a great way for me to relax and really stretch after a long week. I also love that it’s not super intimidating or serious, and can be done with any skill level; take what you need type of class.
Group fitness keeps me accountable and able to maintain a schedule. I’ve met so many great people and look forward to seeing them every class. I also love that each class has its own vibe depending on the instructor. I love that I can take a spin class on Monday, HIIT classes during the week, and a yoga class on the weekends. There is something for everyone.
ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT TRYING A GROUP FITNESS CLASS:
My advice would be to just try a class- there is nothing to lose! I’d also suggest trying out different instructors and classes until you find what works for you. There are so many options and great classes that one is bound to match your goals and style.

MEET MAURA JAQUAY, GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR AT JADA BLITZ FITNESS
I have been an instructor at JB for almost 3 years now! I teach all of our yoga classes and also strength HIIT.
Katie has been taking my class consistently for about a year now. Her balance and grace when moving between postures probably has been her largest improvement. She is someone I could use as a demo body in class if needed.
I chose Katie for Group Fitness member of the Month because she is one of the most committed members here at Jada. She has tried every class, comes in almost daily, and brings the most radiant positive light. She even brings her two sons to hang out in kids club. I knew Katie from taking other instructors classes before she took my own. She’s strong, hard working, kind, and lights up the room.
Katie’s dedication is hard to match. She makes sure she is at the gym on a daily basis. She never is competitive towards anyone, rather she uplifts them. I love watching her interact with new members as she helps us continue to grow our Jada community. She just has that warm welcoming smile.
Katie is that person when you walk in a room and start talking to that you can’t help but to just smile. She’s a key piece of group fitness here at JB.
