Client of The Week: Meet Shondra!
Congratulations to our Client of the Week, Shondra, who has been working 1-1 with certified personal trainer, Jalal Ali, since 2019.
PEOPLE SEE WHERE YOU ARE BUT NOT WHERE YOU CAME FROM.
I began working with Jalal after seeing myself in photos, I was 340 lbs. We’re cousins, so I knew he would be patient with me as I was just beginning. I also believe in supporting my family as much as I can, so it was only logical that I let Jalal guide my fitness journey.
I’ve seen the results of his clients, I wanted the same. I’ve lost 125 lbs and have 25 lbs more to go before I am at my goal weight.
THE COACH-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP
Jalal assists me with nutrition advice, he knows my concerns and problem areas, then helps me target them. He’s very good at getting the extra effort without being a jerk…he’s not aggressive, screaming, yelling.
Even though we are related, I actually like my cousin! He has a very keen sense of humor, we both love sports and music, and that gives us a lot to talk about. It helps the time go by faster while he’s working me out.
I SEE RESULTS
I have muscles in my arms and form to my overall physique. I’ve had so many people ask me about my routine and I respond “I know a guy!”. I can’t and don’t take credit for all of Jalal’s hard work.
My BMI was a 55 and is now 36.1, and I’m happy. Even if I never loose another pound and simply maintain where I am, I am happy.
I do wish I had before and after photos to show people so they would respect the progress.
EXPERIENCING JADA BLITZ FITNESS
The staff has been very nice to me. I forgot my shirt one day and didn’t know I should have received one as a client and member, so the team gladly provided me with one. Pri and everyone working at the gym goes out of their way to be considerate.
THE KEYS TO SHONDRA’S MOTIVATION
What keeps me motivated? My energy levels and being able to shop anywhere as opposed to specialty stores, and of course, Jalal.
His calm approach is what helps me get through the challenges and keeps me motivated.

Shondra started training with me in the summer of 2019 with the intent to lose healthy weight. She understood the importance of weight training and balanced nutrition coming in, which has made her adjustment to a fitness lifestyle pretty smooth. When Look for long term results, The goal is not to lose only 40 pounds in the next 12 weeks or so.
The goal is to regain your health for the rest of your life.
I remember the moment Shondra realized her endurance and strength had increased midway through a session and she said, “Wait this is actually kind of light to me today! If this was a year ago I couldn’t have done this!”
What I enjoy most about working with Shondra is her get after it attitude when she comes in to train. Even on days were her energy is kind of low she always gives a 100% of what she has for the day. I’m very proud of her progress so far.
