Client of The Week: Meet John B!

 In Client of the Week

Congratulations to our Client of the Week, John B!

I came into Jada Blitz in the winter of 2017, when Jada was still in the old building. Every day, when going to work very early in the morning, I would look in from across the street and see people working extremely hard and enjoying themselves while they were doing it.

BECOMING PART OF THE JADA BLITZ FAMILY

I worked without a trainer at another gym for about a year before I came to Jada Blitz. Instantly, I noticed a difference in training, the last trainer I worked with for about three sessions at my previous gym could not compare to Ryan.

MY GOALS & BECOMING A PERSONAL TRAINING CLIENT

Currently, my goals are to continue to improve my core and endurance and to continue on the current diet that I am on, which is circled around Balanced Body. Ryan suggested Balanced Body was the best route for me because I am a single guy with a very high paced career. The last thing I wanted to do when I came home was to start meal portioning.

This combination of workout and diet has led to a 25 pound weight loss in the last 3 1/2 months! This has blown away every expectation I had before the start of this regiment. Looking back, I can see that I was not eating right, which led to sleep struggles, lethargy, mood differences etc. Ever since we changed my diet, all of those things have improved and changed my activity and attitude for the better.

Working with Ryan over the last 2 – 3 years has been nothing short of awesome. He takes the time to get to know you as a person, what drives you, and what you need to improve. He is professional, and of course we like to joke around and have fun, but when it’s time to go to work we go to work. No excuses! He knows when and how hard to push me and my capabilities.

When I think about one specific moment in our time working together, I would recall this past summer. Ryan had me doing farmers walks with a medicine ball raised above my head. I couldn’t touch my shoulder blades or reach up high enough; because, as Ryan always comments, I’ve got a very large or “ overdeveloped ” neck and large traps. That was why it was hard for me to maintain flexibility in my shoulders to reach my back. I was halfway through the farmers walks when I looked back and saw Ryan laughing hysterically (not judgmentally, all in good fun). I remember dropping the medicine ball and walking back inside, to which Ryan felt awful! This has sense been an ongoing joke between us.

ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT TRYING PERSONAL TRAINING

I would say my take away would be you get what you put into your workouts and daily routine. Including a work out in your every day schedule keeps your mental health in check as well as your physical health. Don’t hesitate just do it, even if it’s for just half an hour. Jada is the perfect place to go because it just breathes positivity. Working out has become a part of my every day life. Jada has become like a second home to me. Plus, having a personal trainer helps to change your work outs so it keeps you from getting stale.

THE FACILITY & STAFF

My overall experience with the Jada Blitz Staff, throughout the last four years, has been nothing short of unparalleled excellence. Ashley and Justin created a culture, and a following, that has changed peoples lives. Everybody’s always smiling and very welcoming. This positive culture is felt throughout the entire building, down to all the trainers and service staff. Everyone at the front desk is so positive and welcoming that I hope all the members appreciate them the same way I do. There’s nothing like walking through the doors in the middle of winter, at 5:45 AM, to find somebody smiling and welcoming you. What a perfect way to start your day.

All in all, I’d like to say thank you, first and foremost, to Ryan. After a long journey of personal loss and some struggles, we’re making serious progress. I’d also like to thank the whole Blitz crew for treating everyone with respect and dignity, while also encouraging positivity.

MEET RYAN COURTON, CPT AT JADA BLITZ FITNESS

Training John has been a wonderful experience. Working as just two people, we can adjust and work through work schedules and personal life demands. Working one on also also makes for a more meaningful journey. John has worked very hard and is reaping the benefits of his hard work. I really enjoy our conversations. It’s cool to be able to do your workout and laugh throughout a session. A memory I have of John is when he came in with an explanation of how his legs were too sore and I said, “great we got legs today,” and he was not so happy!
