Client of The Week: Kelly!

Congratulations to our Client of the Week, Kelly !

For the past year and a half, I’ve been a part of Jada Blitz Fitness. My husband gifted me a personal training package as a Christmas present in 2021, knowing my long-standing interest in weightlifting, despite my concerns related to my health background.

Following the birth of my four children, I faced intense back pain. Despite years of trying chiropractic treatments and physical therapy, I ultimately opted for surgery, hoping it would improve my quality of life. During this journey, one of my doctors informed me that I would never be able to run again. Running had always been my favorite form of exercise and a cherished outlet. Once I received clearance to resume physical activity, my body resisted every step of the way. There came a pivotal moment when I resolved to push through the pain, I lowered myself to the floor, struggling to assume child’s pose while fighting back tears. It was through yoga that I began my path to healing.  It was my only form of exercise for that first year.  Gradually I grew stronger, I progressed to cycling and light group fitness classes. However, the day I embarked on my first run alongside my husband marked my most significant milestone.

MY GOALS & BECOMING A PERSONAL TRAINING CLIENT

With each obstacle I overcame, my children remained at the forefront of my mind. I aspired to be the kind of mother who could ski, surf or hike alongside them. Each day of diligent work brings me closer to fully reclaiming that role. Lifting weights was something I never believed I could accomplish. I was filled with fear, dreading the possibility of undoing all my progress with a single wrong move. However, embarking on this incredible journey has taught me the importance of proper form and technique, all while steadily gaining strength. My objectives were clear: to master this skill, develop muscle, and foster the ongoing healing and strengthening of my body. Today, I am at the peak of my physical strength, surpassing any previous point in my entire life.

Since the beginning of fall, I’ve had the honor of working alongside Anthony Cecere. Throughout this time, he has consistently pushed and challenged me, guiding me every step of the way. I’ve been introduced to new and demanding exercises that I never thought possible for someone like me. Anthony has imparted several techniques and exercise variations aimed at helping me develop strength, particularly in my deadlift. Beyond the physical aspects, our discussions have revolved around the significance of maintaining a proper diet, staying consistent, and pushing that extra bit during each set. However, what truly stands out to me is Anthony’s infectious positivity and joy. I believe that his energy and unwavering encouragement have played a pivotal role in my personal growth. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishing a personal record, accompanied by Anthony’s spirited exclamation of “Let’s gooooo!”

ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT TRYING PERSONAL TRAINING

To anyone who may be considering the idea of working with a personal trainer, I wholeheartedly encourage you to take that leap and give it a chance. The benefits of accountability and the wealth of knowledge you acquire are truly transformative for both your mental and physical well-being. Even if you doubt your ability to engage in weightlifting, I urge you to try anyway. You never truly know what you’re capable of until you give it all you’ve got.

Training with Kelly has been nothing but phenomenal, she shows up every session ready to work!

I enjoy training Kelly because she is always focused and listens to my cues in order to perform proper rep execution. One of my favorite memories with Kelly is when I found out her Dr. informed her she shouldn’t lift anymore because of her back issues. To see how far she has come with strength in her deadlifts and proper form is truly inspirational.

Kelly is a very optimistic person and client. She always looks at the glass half full. Whether it’s training or proper diet, I appreciate that she takes the lessons I give her in the gym and applies it to her life outside of the gym.

I look forward to my sessions with Kelly not only because of the good conversations we have, but because I know I will get 100% from her every time!
