Client of The Week: Conner!

 In Client of the Week

Congratulations to our Client of the Week, Conner!

Originally, I was at the old Jada location and was training to get ready for crew. I rejoined at the new location a year ago after gaining a lot of weight during the pandemic. I have been with the gym ever since with the goal of losing weight.

MY GOALS & BECOMING A PERSONAL TRAINING CLIENT

Initially, my goal was to lose 100 pounds in the first year. I was very overweight and decided I wanted to make a change. Since last October, I have lost 76 pounds and am currently on track to making my goal. Currently, my main goal is to lose 180 pounds in total. I am almost halfway there!

Adam has been extremely helpful. Not only encouraging, but pushy just enough so that what needs to get done gets done. Not to mention, he’s hilarious. What I enjoy most about training with Adam is the random talks we have like buddies. It makes the work more enjoyable and time goes by in an instant!

One lesson I’ve learned from my personal training experience is that I don’t have to cut certain foods out completely, rather, just find replacements. For example, instead of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream there’s Halo-Top, candy bars can be replaced with Barebells, and instead of stopping for fast-food, I  meal prep, etc.

ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT TRYING PERSONAL TRAINING

My advice is don’t worry! The hardest thing to do is start, after that it’s (comparatively) a breeze.

THE FACILITY & STAFF

Jada Blitz has an excellent staff, full of great people.

FITNESS IS UNDEFINED. WHAT’S YOUR FIT?

Fitness to me is going to the gym, swimming, and hiking. Overall, just being active.

MEET ADAM GUTIERREZ, CPT AT JADA BLITZ FITNESS

Training with Conner has been a wonderful experience. I started training him when he was 14 years old so I’ve had the pleasure of seeing this young man grow up. He has taught me a lot- mostly about politics, if you know the kid, thats what he loves.

Conner and I have had a lot of fun training together, the kid always made me laugh. There was this one instance where Conner was on the leg extension downstairs and we had ben training at an unusual time for Conner, which happened to be early in the morning. He had just finished a set and Justin came up behind him and scared him. I thought the kid was going to go through the roof, I’ve never seen him move that fast!

What I enjoy most about Conner is that he’s always trying to validate the amount of caffeine he would consume on a daily basis. There were always a lot of new reasons, but the standard was…caffeine is good for you.

The biggest thing, and the most important besides all the fun we have, is that Conner is going to school with knowledge on how to workout and maintain a well balanced diet. Don’t let me forget, the young man just lost shy of 80 pounds in our 9 months of training together!
