Client of The Week: Alyssa!

 In Client of the Week

Congratulations to our Client of the Week, Alyssa!

I have been with Jada Blitz for 6 months now. Initially, I explored the facility to follow my personal trainer, Olivia, who had trained me for the past 2 years at another facility. My fitness journey began with ballet and contemporary dance. Eventually, I explored boxing and learned to love more HIIT style workouts. I appreciate the empowerment that comes with boxing and continue to practice this with my personal training at Jada.

MY GOALS & BECOMING A PERSONAL TRAINING CLIENT

I was new to weightlifting and training and wanted to feel more comfortable with the equipment. Olivia helped me do this in addition to slowing down, and being more mindful with my movements (she calls me, “The Cardio Bunny”) lol.

My current goals are to continue intentional, mindful movements. Being more aware of my muscle capacity and agility. Balancing work and rest. Olivia has helped me gain perspective on finding that equilibrium!

My training experience has been comprehensive- we focus on strength, form, balance, and stretching. All of this has helped me grow as a runner, dancer, and fitness lover. What I love about working with Liv is our shared background in dance and how we’ve evolved to enjoy other forms of movement. Liv has always been a proponent for challenge, but also listening to one’s body cues.

My favorite memory while training with Liv is probably the first time I told her “no way, I’m not doing that” (in response to a challenging exercise) and in return she added extra weight (within reason) to prove I was more than capable!

ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT TRYING PERSONAL TRAINING

Working with a Personal Trainer is a great way to grow out of your comfort zone, learn new forms of technique, body awareness, and overall strength and wellness both physically and mentally.

THE FACILITY & STAFF

The staff has been very welcoming and knowledgeable

FITNESS IS UNDEFINED. WHAT’S YOUR FIT?

Fitness should be fun and fluid- a good mix of challenge with attainable goals. Moderation is key, make time for rest. This is what I’ve learned along my journey, which is very opposite of the strict and rigid protocols I grew up with in dance.

MEET OLIVA BARONE, CPT AT JADA BLITZ FITNESS

Alyssa was my first client ever as a personal trainer! She has been such a fun and amazing client from the start. From a cardio addict never touching a weight to a strong woman who has strength and power, it’s been the best experience watching her growth.

My favorite memory of our time together was when she  told me “no” to doing squats. I had her do sprints down Main Street for that sass (she learned to not sass me during training after this.)
I enjoy working with Alyssa because she brings personality and drive to our workouts. She never fails to make me laugh but also works hard and isn’t afraid to push herself with whatever I give her.

Alyssa is more than a client, she’s one of the reasons why I was driven to become a personal trainer full time. The friendship and bond we have through fitness is so beyond amazing and I’m so thankful.
